This kettle does a whole lot more than simply “boil the water”. Boiling water implies that the temperature has reached 100 degrees Celsius, or 212 degrees Fahrenheit, give or take a few degrees. In other words, just keep adding heat until the water reaches boiling point, then you are done.
But what if boiling is not what it is cracked up to be?
What if too much heat is too much of a good thing? If you prefer to drink green tea, or oolong tea, or even French press coffee, then you will know what I mean. To make the perfect cup of green tea, you shouldn’t add boiling water. Apart from drinking black tea, or instant coffee, sometimes you don’t always need to have the water at boiling point, and what you really want is to have hot water at just the right temperature.
How can you get the temperature just right?
Unless you want to stand there with a thermometer waiting for the boiling water to cool down just the right amount, there is an easier way to do it! (Don’t laugh – before I got my Cusinart CPK 17 Perfectemp kettle I used to do just that. I’d boil the water and then let it cool with a thermometer in to make sure I got the right temperature before adding my tea leaves.) The Cuisinart CPK-17 is here to help! Simply fill with cold, clean water (remembering that the better the water, the better the tea). Then select the temperature setting from the push buttons on the handle, and push “START”. As simple as that, the Cuisinart CPK 17 Perfectemp kettle will heat the water to your selection and with a gentle beep, you are ready to make your perfect brew.
But wait there’s more!
Better still the Cuisinart CPK-17 Perfect temperature kettle is able to hold that temperature if you ask it to. By simply pressing the “KEEP WARM” button under the “START” button, this brilliant electric kettle will keep the water heated to exactly the correct setting, for up to 30 minutes, or until you pour the water. How many times do you boil the kettle, walk away to do something, and by the time you get back, the water is too cool for tea? Not any longer!
What temperature settings does it have?
The Cuisinart CPK 17 offers six temperature settings at the touch of a button. This powerful kettle is rated at 1.5 kWatts and can heat up to 1.7 liters of water in a matter of just a few minutes.
